As part of our mission to advance the art and science of engineering for the general welfare of humankind, the Engineers’ Council awards scholarships to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted by a college or university for the following fall term into an academic program leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or the Physical Sciences. The Council coordinates application submissions through the College/Career counselors at several schools to ensure that the applicant pool is broad and diverse. Additionally, we are engaged with schools in the Antelope Valley, San Fernando Valley, Greater Los Angeles / South Bay, and as Far East as Palm Desert.
Once provided with the applications and supporting documents, the Council selects the recipients based not only on academic success, but also with consideration for the student’s involvement in their community and their plans for leveraging their STEM education. Selected recipients receive their awards as part of their school’s Senior Awards Ceremony.
